Man charged over jogger's death

A driver who allegedly killed a jogger when he pinned the woman between his car and a fence has been charged over her death.

The woman, affectionately known as BB, suffered "catastrophic" injuries when a car lost control on Milne Road in Beenleigh, south of Brisbane, and slammed into a fence around 4.45am on November 27.

She was rushed to hospital after being freed from under the car but could not be saved.

A 25-year-old man from Algester was charged with dangerous operation of a vehicle causing death today.

His alleged victim's sister, who did not want to be identified, told 9News about the frantic call she received from a relative asking if she'd seen BB after news of the crash spread.

“I told them I would check with police and drove down to see if they knew anything," she said.

"I heard about the accident and I knew she ran around here. As I got closer to the station, I just knew. I just knew."
