An Adelaide man has been beaten by two men who came to buy his iPhone.

An Adelaide man has told how he was viciously beaten by two men, who came to his Findon house posing as buyers for a mobile phone that had been advertised online.

Akhal Allamkonda had his iPhone XS Max listed on Gumtree and had been communicating with the pair for two days - before they came to his Norman Street house just after 9.30pm last night.

"They wanted to buy the phone, they said to me. I said .. ‘without giving the money I don't give the phone to you’," he recounted.

"I give the phone to them and they give the wallet ... the next moment the guys start beating me."

Akhal tried to defend himself as the pair attacked him with a metal pole and brick.

He desperately tried to hide the iPhone, which is worth about $1600.

"I threw my phone in front of the car, they went back there and picked up the phone and ran away," he added.
